My Personal Journey Toward Resilience


For me, resilience was not about bouncing back from one single event — it was about navigating years of uncertainty and self-discovery. Horses have always been my healing practice. Being around animals was my way of self-soothing, and for a long time I believed that working with them would be my lifelong path.


But reality set in. Injuries from the physical demands of that work made it unsustainable, and financially it was tough. Passion alone was not enough to pay the bills. Each time I tried to change careers, I found myself slipping into depression or self-sabotage. The pressure weighed heavily on me and on my relationship.


I am grateful to have a supportive partner who carried much of the financial responsibility while giving me the space to think. That time allowed me to reflect on what I truly wanted. I explored different career opportunities, searching for something that could nourish me the way working with horses once did.


It was not easy. After many years of trial and error, I finally decided to refocus on my goals and values. I listed jobs that aligned with my capabilities, narrowed them down to two, and eventually made my choice. It took me a long time, but the process itself taught me resilience: the ability to keep moving forward, even when the path was not clear.
